HILLSIDE Academy of Dance is gearing up for its 14th year of fun-filled dance classes commencing Saturday 31 January at the Belgrave South Community Centre. With classical ballet, jazz, tap, stretch and strength as well as contemporary, singing/vocal coaching, funk/hip-hop, acrobatics, exams and competitions there is something for everyone to enjoy from pre-schoolers to advanced dancers.
The academy offers great fun general classes for those who love to dance but do not wish to compete or take exams.
It also caters for students who wish to be more involved in the ‘dancing world’ offering examinations in Cecchetti International Classical Ballet and Southern Federation of Dance Jazz and Tap, as well as opportunities to compete in competitions and attend various auditions and workshops throughout the year.
Last year the Hillside outstanding achievements resulted in one student gaining entry into the Australian Children’s Choir and another student gaining entry into an elite full-time dance and performance course, as well as exceptionally high examination results across all disciplines.
The end of year performance is a fun time for all. In full costume and make-up everyone shines on this day.
Enrolments are now being taken for this year’s classes.
