Schools pleased with scores

HILLS students have proven to be high achievers again this year with a number scoring 90 and above in their VCE results.
Monbulk College principal Margaret Uren said the results were very pleasing with several students scoring in the 90s while others scored 40 plus.
“Overall we are pleased with the results as the students scored as well or better than expected,” she said.
Meanwhile the scores at Emerald College were slightly lower than last year.
Principal Wayne Burgess said the school had its best results in 2006 but students still got some fantastic results this year.
He said two students scored in the 90s, one scored 89, and several scored in the 80s and 70s.
“We can do better and we always aim to do better all the time,” Mr Burgess said.
“But the most important thing for students now is to look at what they want to do and pick the right courses.”
The Mail attempted unsuccessfully to contact other secondary schools in the area about VCE results.
