A TALE of an Irish families’ epic journey to Australia will take centre stage at Knox Community Art Centre next month.
Actor Felix Nobis will enthral audiences with his unique theatrical performance of the play Once Upon a Barstool.
The story comes from a modern day epic poem, which follows four generations of an Irish family as it travels to Australia and back again.
Nobis, best known for his roles in the ABC drama series MDA and Janus, draws on the traditions of Australian bush balladry and Irish yarn spinning in this fantastic epic tale.
The result is an amazing performance with a splash of old-fashioned storytelling mixed with a dash of compelling modern theatrics.
The story follows the Irish family through sea voyages and battles with monsters.
Once Upon a Barstool is a one-person adventure that is not to be missed.
Audiences can see this amazing tale at the Knox Community Arts Centre on the corner of Mountain Highway and Scoresby Road, Bayswater, on Thursday, 13 September at 8pm.
Tickets are now on sale and cost $27 for adults, $21.50 for concession cardholders and $16.50 for students.
