MONBULK MP James Merlino says he is excited about continuing his work as the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs following a cabinet reshuffle.
He has not only retained his current portfolios but was last week given more responsibility as the assistant to Premier John Brumby’s Multicultural Affairs portfolio.
Mr Merlino said he was excited about maintaining his Sport and Youth Affairs portfolios and looks forward to being part of some exciting projects.
He said it was a great to be part of supporting grassroots sports as well as working on bigger projects such as the redevelopment of Olympic Park.
Mr Merlino said it was also a great honour to be given the new role of assisting with the Multicultural Affairs portfolio.
“To me the things that make Melbourne and Victoria so special are our sporting culture and multicultural heritage which I think sets us apart from the rest of the world,” he said.
