Park icon looks for some input

KNOX City Council is seeking community input to decide the future direction of a Ferntree Gully icon.
The Tim Neville Arboretum, situated on the corner of Francis Crescent and Dorset Road, was constructed in 1988 as Knox’s major project for the Bicentenary, and the council is now asking for help in creating a management plan for the future of the reserve.
“The community’s input in this process is vital for council to develop a plan for Tim Neville Arboretum that identifies the short and long term development and enhancement opportunities for this significant regional park,” Knox mayor David Cooper said.
“A reference group for the park will also be established to guide the development of the management and master plan.
“The group will consist of representatives from each of the reserve’s user groups, residents and council officers,” he said.
Surveys are available from the council as part of the community research process.

Comments will be received in writing until the close of business on Friday, 18 August.
