Brookers take Monbulk to task

WITH the under 11s playing at UpweyTecoma, Monbulk’s other teams travelled away to Cockatoo last Sunday, but unfortunately Hawks were unable to extract much joy from the results.

Despite having the majority of the play Monbulk’s poor shots at goal let us down in the end with the Brookers inflicting Monbulk’s second loss for the season. They were much more determined in their play and made the most of their scoring opportunities while the Hawks lacked their usual spark.

MONBULK were up against it all day facing one of the league ladder leaders. Many of their boys were down on form due to injury or battling the flu, and to their credit they battled it out to the end.

GOOD team effort by an outmatched team. Gembrook was quicker and stronger leading to the ball all day. To Monbulk’s credit, they posted a couple of goals but Gembrook ran away with the game.
