WHO said ballet was only for children? The Elance Adult Ballet School conducts ballet classes for adults at the Olinda Hall.
Principal Dianne Harrison said she identified the need for adult ballet classes when she herself returned to dancing after a prolonged break. “In the classes we aim to provide an atmosphere that is enjoyable and relaxed, that moves at a measured pace, but which still gives a good workout and develops strong technique. It’s a well structured reintroduction to ballet.”
Ms Harrison also welcomes and is delighted by the numbers of students who have never studied ballet before.
“Students find that they work just as hard as in a gym but the benefits are so much more.” Adult ballet and Body Conditioning classes, beginner and experienced levels, are conducted on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Olinda Hall.
