A UNIQUE flower arrangement in the shape of a dragonfly which was designed by Olinda florist Angela Onezime won acclaim at the recent ABC garden festival.
Ms Onezime of the Flower Patch was awarded a bronze medal for floral design as a part of the 2005 ABC Garden Australia Festival.
She said this was the second year the competition has run and that there were six other florist who entered compared to the two who entered last year.
Ms Onezime said there was no theme for designing the floral arrangement but that it had to be something that would be sold in a shop.
“I chose to do a dragonfly as I have always wanted to design one since I saw a display at the casino of birds and thought it would be a good idea to make a dragonfly out of flowers,” she said.
Ms Onezime said it took her several nights to put together her creation of the dragonfly.
She said she was excited and thrilled when it was announced she won a bronze medal for the floral design section of the festival.
Ms Onezime said she has since been approached by the Ferny Creek Horticultural Society to help put together a floral display for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
