Young Brookers impress

Gembrook-Cockatoo 13.20.98 d Woori Yallock 2.5.17.
GEMBROOK started off a bit slow as Woori took the contest up to the Brookers, running around loose the team had to man up and be accountable. They took them on with getting numbers to the ball and second efforts. Tackling was a lot better but the first options amongst the senior group needs improvement. All in all a good win.
Best: G. Herd, D. Rozenboom, C. Scott, B. West, M. Thompson.

Gembrook-Cockatoo 14.16.100 d Woori Yallock 1.2.8.
AGAINST a skilled and determined Woori side this match required no slackness in attitude or application. A slow first quarter left room to improve in voices and protection. Second quarter was much louder and better directed and scores moved further ahead. Third saw further improvement with better communication, some unselfish centring play and good precision. A bit too goal hungry in final term but still a strong team effort and great score result.
Best: M. Cooper, D. Volta, T. Bugg, L. Turner, J. Morris.

Gembrook-Cockatoo 5.5.35 d Wesburn 3.4.22.
GEMBROOK finally switched on in the first quarter, but let Wesburn into the game through dropped marks and sloppy disposal. The boys kept working for each other and running hard to contests and in the end came away with a good team win.
Best: A. Turner, H. Pope, J. Mawson, M. McLennon, L. Fitzgerald.

A GOOD effort against a good side. The first quarter cost Gembrook again with Woori getting three easy goals. In the last the Broookers ran all over Woori but were only able to manage the solitary goal.
Best: C. Osmond, J. Berry, C. Sawyer, C. Hannah, M. Wills.

Gembrook-Cockatoo 5.2.32 d Woori Yallock 3.4.22.
A CRACKER of a game was played at Woori Yallock, where every player put in exceptionally well. It was very tight early with the opposition getting two early goals but the boys were committed to their cause. Scores level at half time saw both teams come out fighting hard to gain first use of the ball. It was played out to the end by both teams, a hard fought physical contest will ensure two tired teams at day’s end.
Best: S. Hilder, R. Wood, O. Strathdee, A. Lawler-Lobato, B. Standeven.
