GEMBROOK Market organisers have applauded stallholders for working through the extreme heat on Sunday to help wrap up another successful market day.
Although temperatures reached the low 40s, hundreds of visitors braved the heat to have a look around the market.
Market committee chairman John Cascone said while some stallholders had to cancel as their products were badly affected by the heat, the majority still turned up as many described Gembrook Market as one of the best and most enjoyable to attend.
“Most patrons shopped in the morning or early afternoon and our shady environment meant that the temperature seemed less intense,” Mr Cascone said.
“However, in the interest of everyone’s health, we closed a little early when temperatures went over the 40-degree level.”
Market a hot success
