Park’s welcome for visitors

WITH summer here it’s time for hills people to enjoy all that Emerald Lake Park has to offer.
The park’s wading pool opened for the summer on Saturday 1 December and is open every day from 11.30am to 6pm, except Christmas Day, until March.
People can also take up the chance to take a spin around the lake on one of the paddleboats or enjoy a coffee and some cake at the café.
One of the most popular attractions at the park is also the Model Railway, which is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
The lush green ornamental trees also provide a perfect backdrop for a relaxing picnic by the lake.
The park, which is run by Cardinia Shire Council, is the perfect place to have a bit of summer fun and relaxation.
The council is now also offering $10 annual parking passes to hills residents.
Passes can be purchased at the Emerald Lake Park café, the Model Railway, or from the council’s customer service centre in Henty Way, Pakenham.
