Support at the right levels

CARMEL Colborne owner director of Kip McGrath Education Centres, Boronia, is a firm believer that all students can learn and succeed given the right help and advice.
“At Kip McGrath we pride ourselves on providing professional tuition to students of all levels and capabilities from prep to VCE,” she said.
A fully qualified registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, Carmel has had over 27 years’ experience teaching.
“For prep to Year 10 students we focus on the key areas of reading, spelling, comprehension, English and mathematics.
“Specialist VCE English and mathematics teachers cater for the specific individual needs of VCE students in these subjects.”
The centre uses the highly successful Australian program developed by Kip McGrath which is now being exported and used in more than 20 countries around the world.
Students are first given a free assessment and a program is then devised to address their specific needs.
“We focus on developing students’ confidence and self belief as well as their academic capabilities in a non-threatening, fun but seriously academic atmosphere,” said Carmel.
“Sessions are broken into different activities so that new skills and learning can be reinforced in varied and interesting ways.
“Modern computers and the up-to-date specifically written software are part of the program.
“Students attending this centre enjoy their learning and enjoy coming,” she said.
“VCE students can expect and will get first class assistance with their course and school work, working closely with their tutor on the subject of choice.
“Parents can have complete confidence that their child is being taught by qualified registered teachers who understand the subject, the needs of their child and will teach their child thoroughly,” she said.
Kip McGrath has just introduced new programs that cater for students from pre-school to tertiary level and include Get Ready For School, English as a Second Language (E.S.L), QAX Mathematics and Intelligence Development.
Study Skills and Essay Writing are 10-week programs essential for all senior secondary and tertiary students.
Kip McGrath Boronia is also registered with Curriculum Corporation to administer the Reading Assistance Voucher (R.A.V.) program for students who are eligible for reading tuition funded by the federal government.
Kip McGrath Education Centres Boronia is at Suite 3, 18 Floriston Road, Boronia.
Hours are 3.45pm to 8pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and other hours by appointment.
