THE seeds have been planted for the beginning of the Boronia township’s master plan of improvements.
A handful of Boronia community members, including Knox mayor Jenny Moore, last week began planting the first of 2778 trees and shrubs as part of a holistic and longterm improvement to Boronia’s central district.
The trees were planted in Boronia Park, located near the intersection of Boronia and Dorset Roads.
“The improvements planned for Boronia Park will provide a fantastic openspace area for all of the community to enjoy,” Cr Moore said.
Nearby is the town’s major shopping precinct, which Cr Moore said would also be subject to beautification works.
Cr Moore said the Boronia improvements were the result of ‘many hours of community consultation’ with residents and traders.
