OLINDA Ferny Creek Football Club is getting ready to kickstart the 2006 season with its biggest ever family fun day on Sunday.
Event organisers Duncan Brown and Peter Cole said the day will be packed full of fun activities for all ages with heaps of rides, a giant slide, fairy floss, jumping castle, clowns, dunking machine and hovercraft demonstrations.
Mr Cole said there will a local band and bagpipes to entertain the adults and a barbecue and spit roast to keep everyone’s hunger at bay.
Mr Cole said funds will go to the senior team as it has progressed to division one this year and there was a lot of costs and expenses for the move.
He said this year would be the first time the club has run a senior netball competition and was inviting anyone interested to join.
Mr Brown said the family day would also have a mystery guest. The family day will be held on Sunday, 2 April from 10am to 4pm at the Olinda Recreational Reserve in Olinda-Monbulk Road. People interested in joining the football team should contact Peter on 0439 997 583 or Duncan for netball on 0408 283 401.
