Junior Rangers to hit the road in new bus

By Casey Neill
SHERBROOKE Rangers Junior Soccer Club players are set to hit the road in a new set of wheels.
Club president Wayne Conder said the bus would help club members travel to away games.
The funds to purchase the much-needed bus have come through the club’s association with the Belgrave Community Bank and Bendigo Telco.
“In the longer term, funds would be directed to upgrading club facilities,” he said.
Business owners and residents are being urged to pledge their support for the team by signing up their bank and telephone accounts to the project.
Belgrave Community Bank manager Charmaine Jeffery said customers could transfer their phone and internet services to Bendigo Telco, transfer their banking to Bendigo Bank through the Belgrave Community Bank branch, or flag their existing accounts to the project.
A percentage of the profits from their accounts would then be directed to the club.
“People of the Dandenong Ranges area will now have a simple way to support the all important youth in their community – just by using the phone and doing their banking,” Upwey and District Community Bank Group chairman Peter Marke.
For more information on the project visit the Belgrave Community Bank branch at 1656 Burwood Highway, Belgrave, or call 9752 6606.
