UPWEY community leaders are looking to get a new “tradition” off to a flying start next month.
The inaugural Upwey Community Billy Cart Races will run on Sunday, 26 February. Race day will begin at 10am and finish about 3pm, although organisers are looking for volunteers to help set up and run the races, and clean up Main Street at the end of the day.
Upwey resident Ben Mowat, 14, will host weekly workshops at the Anglican and Baptist churches beginning on Thursday, 27 January.
Anyone interested in running a stall or volunteering should contact event manager Tony Hardiman on 9754 3558.
