THE long-waited Olinda Police Station is just weeks from opening, but residents won’t have to wait that long to meet their local policemen.
A mobile police station will be set up at the Olinda Community House, Olinda-Monbulk Road, on Saturday, from 10am, for townspeople to come and meet the police officers that will be manning the new station.
Sergeant Tony Haining, Senior Constable Tim Wall and Senior Constable Andrew Stevenson will speak about the new station and answer any questions that local residents may have.
They will also talk to people about home and personal security.
Sgt Haining said it would be a great opportunity for people to discuss any concerns they have about the new police station.
“I hope the community takes this opportunity to meet us in a one-on-one situation,” he said.
Sgt Haining said the keys to the new station would be handed over to police on Monday, 21 May but a date for the official opening of the building has not yet been released.
Say hello to the police
