EMERALD Netball Club has proven itself as real contender this season taking home four premiership flags.
Club president Lisa Westaway said the girls had a fantastic season with six teams making it to the grand final.
She said it was even better when four of those teams came away victorious.
Ms Westaway said another premiership flag could have been added to the tally but one of the finals was an Emerald versus Emerald match.
“This has been the most amazing year that I can remember and having six teams in the finals was just amazing,” she said.
“We were thrilled to see the variety of girls making to the finals from as young as 10 to as old as 40 – everyone was thrilled and proved that it doesn’t matter what age you are you can be successful.”
Ms Westaway said the finals were also a momentous occasion because a lot of the players hadn’t played in a grand final before.
She said the coaches this season had been fantastic and taught the players that the game wasn’t all about winning but about team spirit.
Ms Westaway said the club was looking forward to another good season in 2008 and anyone interested in joining should contact Tara Gray on 0402 710 935.
