Emerald goes down to Junction

EMERALD started the Division Two Under 18 game strong controlling the first quarter from the first bounce, with Yarra Junction only entering their forward line twice, resulting in one point.
Emerald on the other hand looked like it was their day, but couldn’t convert between the big sticks, kicking one goal, 6 points.
The second quarter saw Junction come out strong and hit back hard, winning the ball out of the centre, running in numbers, going into the half time break with a two-goal lead.
The third quarter was a tough struggle with Emerald having plenty of the play but not converting. Junction ran it down and kicked an easy goal.
The last quarter saw Junction’s confidence rise, however, Emerald never gave in running and played it out until the final siren with Junction winning the game 7.12.54 to Emerald’s 4.9.33.
Next week Emerald plays South Belgrave in the Preliminary Final, and a win will see them have another go at Yarra Junction in the Grand Final.
