LAST Saturday at Emerald Golf Club, the Star Medal as well as the December Monthly Medal was on the line.
All those who have a 2007 Monthly Medal in their kick competed for the Star Medal in great conditions, which threw up a course rating of 68.
Graeme Fergus (18) made a mess of the opposition, the course and his handicap when he came in with a net 64 to street the field. He also, in the one foul swoop, won the Star Medal, the Monthly Medal and B Grade.
Ross Martin (11) took the A Grade opposition apart with a very solid net 67 while Con Whitlock (27) again came in triumphant in C Grade with 68 on a count back from Bob Moulday.
Others to do well included Barry Cook with 67, Dennis Fuller, Bob Moulday and Ken Hill who all scored 68 while Andrew Tudor squared things away with his handicap for 70. In the nearest the pins contest, Dave Hunt won on the 4th and the 7th, and Ross Martin on the 2nd and the pro pin on the 18th.
Wednesday’s event was won by Mick Petrie (35) with a net 64 from Brett Isherwood (23) on 68.
The putting comp was won, once again by Andy Smith, with 28 uses of the flat stick.
Next Wednesday, a four-club event will be played while on Saturday a stableford event is scheduled.
