ARE you looking for a school that values your role as a parent?
The parents at Mountain District Christian School play an active role in the education of their children. Based on the conviction that it is the parent’s responsibility to raise the child, including their nurturing and education, this Prep to Year 12 school is Christian parentcontrolled.
Parents are encouraged to work in partnership with the teaching staff to develop the gifts and individuality of each child. With the entire staff being dedicated Christians, Mountain District offers a consistency between school and the Christian home.
Having primary and secondary on the one campus allows younger students to enjoy the facilities and resources set up for older classes. A fully networked computer lab, wood technology building, science and food technology centre, and a fabulously resourced library are just some of the benefits primary students are privileged to enjoy.
For the secondary students, the benefits of mingling amongst the primary classes encourage them to interact and cooperate with these younger students, as a family. They also have the opportunity to present themselves as good role models for the primary classes when they interact in the school’s buddy system.
The 2005 year 12 class, in preparation for their farewell from MDCS, are visiting a different class within the school each week and sharing in morning devotions before classes. This week, the year 1 and 2 students were able to teach these older students to sing one of their songs, and to hold hands with them as they prayed together.
The year 12 students were able to reminisce about their school days, take a step back in time to where they have come from, and to be thankful for the nurturing and care they have received.
A beautifully established school, set on 17 acres of natural bushland on the outskirts of Monbulk, Mountain District Christian School has been offering quality Christian education for over 25 years. Tour the modern facilities of this family school, and meet the people of this caring and warm community.
The school will be open for visitors on Saturday, 27 August, 11am to 2pm. Complimentary barbecue lunch and Devonshire teas will be served, as well as games and activities for the family. Telephone 9756 7244 for further details.
Mountain District Christian School is on the corner of Macclesfield road and Jindabyne Court, Monbulk.
