Luke and Ricky first met in 1997 when they began their training at the Victorian College of Pharmacy and took over the Monbulk Pharmacy in March.
“Back in university it was our ambition to one day run our own pharmacy, and that dream is now being realised,” Luke said.
“The focus of the pharmacy is to offer a high quality service and professional advice and to maintain an extensive range of high quality health and beauty products.”
Ricky said the pharmacy is developing strong relationships with the health care providers in the area and with the members of the local community.
“We are liaising with local medical clinics, optometrists and dentists. We are sponsoring Monbulk Football Club’s senior team and are keen to be part of the local community,” he said.
“We are not traditional pharmacists, the kind who just stay behind the counter. We like to get out into the shop and interact with customers and we welcome customer feedback.”
The Monbulk Pharmacy premises are undergoing a gradual facelift.
“It is all part of us bringing a new energy and drive to the place and giving it a fresh look, without taking away from the quality service and products,” said Luke.
The pharmacy currently stocks a wide range of vitamins, a good sports injury section, and a great range of beauty, skin and hair care products as well as a wide range of baby products and fragrances for men and women. Ear piercing services are also offered.
