Old school child care

UNLIKE other child care centres, Wellington Road Playskool at 2-4 Dorning Road, Narre Warren East, is not purpose built which gives it a character few other centres possess.
The building is a quaint 19th century country school which has been beautifully converted into a child care centre.
There is an amazing expanse of outside play space where children can enjoy trees and fresh air in natural surroundings.
Child care centres usually provide approximately seven square metres of outside play space per child.
Wellington Road Playskool staff said they provide in excess of 21 square metres per child.
Under new ownership and privately owned, the centre has had some remarkable improvements made by the new owners.
They also intend to maintain the current programs that are running at the centre and will be introducing further programs in the future such as the school-readiness program which is held in one of the separate kinder buildings with its own fully enclosed playground areas.
The mature and long-serving staff provide wonderful care and offer suitable developmental programs for all children.
Activities such as a vegetable garden and a worm farm are being introduced to allow the children to learn about nature and the environment.
The lovely fresh vegetables will be used in the centre’s kitchen for the children to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
Wellington Road Playskool also offers a school holiday program for school age children and provides separate rooms and play areas from the smaller children to ensure specialised care is provided for all age groups.
Those looking for child care that’s different and rewarding should contact Wellington Road Playskool on 9796 9897.
The centre is only three kilometres from Belgrave-Hallam Road roundabout heading towards Emerald.
