Clients can choose their own special pearls from the amazing range available at wholesale prices at Tiare and have them made into earrings, a pendant or rings while they relax with a cup of coffee.
Tiare Black Pearl is an initiative of Alan and Winnie Maguire who have lived in the Hills for 30 years. The name Tiare is the Tahitian word for a frangipani flower which is the national flower of the Tahitian people.
Mr and Mrs Maguire are also the owner-operators of Gumbirra Bed and Breakfast and Belvedere Chalet Bed and Breakfast in Olinda.
A range of complementary jewellery is also on display in the shop, featuring semi-precious stones, sterling silver, shell, amber and mother of pearl. This fascinating shop also has original pictures and prints for sale, along with Tahitian liqueurs, oils and soaps.
At Tiare Black Pearl, you know you are in good hands. The owners have been buying and selling Tahitian pearls as wholesalers since 2001 and moved into the retail business in Olinda in November 2003.
They have sponsored local schools and charities and donated pearls and mother of pearl jewellery to the Breast Cancer Network Australia for fund-raising auctions.
Mr Maguire has a deep knowledge of the history of black pearls and his wife is adept and experienced at setting these special treasures to perfection
The couple visits Tahiti regularly and purchases only the finest pearls directly from the pearl farmers of French Polynesia.
Relax in the unique township of Olinda in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges and make sure you spend some time browsing through the beautiful jewellery display at Tiare Black Pearl.
Tiare Black Pearl is at Shop 4, 47-53 Olinda Monbulk Road (next to Pie in the Sky) and is open from 11am-5pm seven days a week. Phone 9751 0188.
