TWO complementary businesses will be showcasing their products and creations at the Sassafras Annual Easter Wood Show which runs from Good Friday, 6 April to Easter Monday, 9 April at 361-365 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Sassafras.
Sassy Plants in conjunction with Redgum By Design is building on the success of last year’s inaugural show with nursery-related products and plants on show beside beautiful handcrafted rustic timber furniture and giftware plus an expanded range of wares and associated services.
Mark Fry of Sassy Plants has an amazing range of plants, vegetables and fruit trees such as citrus, plums and apples and the unusual, including pomegranates.
In keeping with current conditions, Mark also has a large range of drought hardy plants and proteas plus pea straw, sugar-cane mulch, wetting agents, water crystals, grey water kits and lots of helpful advice on all aspects of the garden.
A fascinating bonsai selection includes some imports from China and is enhanced with miniature ceramic figurines for bonsai pots as well as wire and tools needed for this absorbing hobby.
Mark also said he has the best display in Melbourne of exotic bark to bark slabs including blackwood, redgum, sheoak, cypress, American oak, Mackay cedar, cherry, sassafras, huon pine and many more species plus arbours and garden furniture with a lifetime guarantee, direct from the USA.
Pots and bird baths are also available.
Redgum By Design has been a huge success story.
On site milling facilitates the production of exclusive handcrafted rustic furniture and giftware and sales of timber and slabs including staircase timber for steps and runners.
Phil Davidson has a passion for using the natural shapes, forms and textures found in timber to create functional, stylish and individual pieces.
“Forty per cent of all the timber I use is reclaimed and salvaged from throughout the Dandenong Ranges,” said Phil.
“Don’t burn that tree — treecycle it.”
The Annual Easter Wood Show promises a great display of all to do with the garden and some incredible concepts in timber.
