THE Worm Farm Waste System is a non-mechanical, single chamber system which processes sewage, waste water plus organic garbage using worm technology.
It harnesses Mother Nature’s technology to process organic matter.
Company principal, Ev Duke said that observing the rainforest floor was the inspiration for the design.
“The leaf litter, nuts, berries, bark and weeds fall to the ground, then mulch down naturally,” she said.
“The worms, slaters and other bugs and insects eat the organic material.
“When processed through their gut, the end product is a lovely natural fertiliser which is why rainforests are such fertile areas.”
The waste system processes food waste including onions, dairy, meat and bones, plus weeds, flowers and all other organic material generated on-site.
“This environmentally sustainable solution translates into 90 per cent less garbage leaving the site for landfill disposal,” said Ms Duke.
“Imagine the incredible impact this would have on our environment.
The worm farm waste systems are all designed site specific.
“We arrange council permits on behalf of our clients.
“A & A Worm Farm Waste Systems only use installers employed, trained and accredited by the company.
“There are no service contracts, no smell and no maintenance and the systems do not require de-sludging.”
A & A Worm Farm Waste Systems design and install systems for food manufacturers, restaurants, schools, unit development sites, ski lodges, even oil refineries for food waste from the staff canteens.
All organic waste is process by the worms and may only leave the system in the format of worm castings.
Combined with the processed wastewater, the worm castings and some worm eggs contribute to the benefits of this natural liquid fertiliser.
