Bands battle

FAIRHILLS Secondary School students shone on stage to take out a local Battle of the Bands.
St Joseph’s College hosted the seven-act competition on Friday 28 August.
Schools represented included St Joseph’s, Mater Christi and Boronia Heights colleges, Fairhills High School and The Knox School.
Fairhills’ Le Purr took out best band to win $300 for its school and $300 for the members of the band.
The Knox School’s band took home $200 and secured another $200 for the school as runner-up.
Proceeds from the evening supported Beyond Blue to raise awareness of depression and anxiety.
