Norman shines at road champs

Harry Norman was the standout performer for Yarra Ranges Athletics at the Victoria 10km Road Race Championship on Sunday 14 July.

In cold blustery conditions for the 1000-plus athletes competing, Harry finished an outstanding 19th across the line in 30 minutes 34 seconds, enough to win the under-20 title.

Harry was sensationally supported by Power Ranges team members James Laven and Max Savill-Bentley to again win the under-20 teams title, Laven finishing ninth in 33.50 and Savill-bentley 11th in 34.05.

The Saturday morning cross country was at a damp, cold Margaret Lewis Reserve for the annual Handicap Cross Country.

The handicapper sends athletes off at different start times with the aim of having everyone finish very close together.

Next weekend Yarra Ranges Athletics athletes will return to Morrison Reserve in Mount Evelyn for one last crack at a person best on the challenging cross country course.
