Monbulk seniors in the spotlight

The future of the Monbulk Rangers Soccer Club appears to be in good hands, with several youth players winning major awards at the senior’s presentation night on 19 October.

Under 14 Victorian Churches Football Association’s Ash Lavender took home the Rose Lee memorial award, in honour of a past coach and committee member, for showing commitment to the team and the club.

13-year-old Georgia Knight, who played in the Football Victoria Women’s Reserves this season, was awarded the Golden Boot for most goals scored as well as the Players Player award.

Awards:

Men’s FFV: Best and fairest Ahren Angelo, runner-up Declan McAleese; Players’ Player Ahren Angelo, runner-up Declan McAleese; Coach’s award James Hulbert; Golden Boot Steve McRae.

Reserves: Best and fairest Shaun O’Rourke, runner-up Luke Vorpasso; Players’ Player Terval Atanasov, runner-up Andy Zuma; Coach’s award Terval Atanasov; Golden Boot Keenan McLean.

Women’s FFV: Best and fairest Mikayla Newman, runner-up Tanya Ramage; Players’ Player Natalie Doolan, runner-up Mikayla Newman; Coach’s award Ange de Boer; Golden Boot Jo Cary.

Reserves: Best and fairest Kristy de Rose, runner-up Emily Nesvara; Players’ Player Georgia Knight, runner-up Ruby Grujic; Coach’s award Emily Nesvara; Golden Boot Georgia Knight.

Mens VCFA: Best and fairest Kim Nieuwesteeg, runner-up Andrew Faur; Players’ Player Andrew Faur, runner-up Lachlan Kennedy; Coach’s award Lachlan Kennedy; Golden Boot Kim Nieuwesteeg.

Womens VCFA: Players’ Player Lucy Ventham, runner-up Emma Downward; Coach’s award Charlie Reed; Most improved Chloe Rechner; Golden Boot Emma Downward.

Rose Lee award: Ash Lavender; Anna Hopkins Sports Person of the Year Lucy Ventham; Club Persons of the Year Judy Kennedy & Narelle Ricketts.
