ALL of Monbulk’s teams are in with a chance after the first day’s play of round 3 of junior cricket.
Best placed are the Under 17 boys who compiled a competitive 5/163 against Upwey. Kieren Gray and Justin Creed both scored 38.
A patient morning in the field saw the Under 15’s dismiss Lysterfield for 140. Brendan Hundle-Wilson and Steve Torsello each took two wickets while Dean Gray pulled off a great catch.
In the Under 13’2’s, some good bowling and fielding restricted Ferntree Gully to 128. Brodie Currie, Sean Ellis and Emma Bednarz all bowled well as did Sean Wilson who took two wickets.
At Monbulk High School, the Under 13’1’s batted slowly against a very good Johnson Park bowling line-up. Nick Keegan top scored with 23. Coach Byron Griffiths believes the 126 total could be enough.
