THE council has vowed to continue its fight for better public transport on behalf of the people of Knox.
Immediate past Knox mayor David Cooper congratulated newly elected local MPs and hoped to work with them to improve public transport services in the outer east.
“The recent election has demonstrated that public transport is clearly on the agenda for the Knox community and it is likely to become a bigger public policy issue over the next few years,” Cr Cooper said.
“Council will continue to advocate on behalf of the local community over the next few years for a feasibility study into the Rowville Rail and an extension of the tram along Burwood Highway from Vermont South to Knox.”
