ST JOSEPH’S Primary School has received a few bob for odd jobs.
La Trobe MP Jason Wood announced funding of $75,000 for the Boronia school earlier this month.
Mr Wood said the cash from the Investing In Our Schools program would improve the power supply, intercom and security system. Carpets, blinds, signs and student equipment will also be upgraded.
“I would like to congratulate the school community for such an outstanding effort,” Mr Wood said.
“My praise particularly goes to school principal Jeanie Hunter for demonstrating such commitment to the school community.”
During 2005 to 2008 the program will provide an additional $300 million in funding to Catholic and independent schools as promised during the 2004 election campaign.
