THE Gembrook Market Committee dug deep into its Santa sack on the weekend to donate money to several community groups.
The market has netted almost $12,000 surplus in profits this year which were to be donated to eight community groups.
The donations were awarded to the community groups at the Carols in the Park event on Saturday, 16 December.
“Applications for grants came from groups involved with children and older residents of our community, along with emergency services, environmental and historic activities and community facilities,” he said.
“The market committee and its volunteers are delighted that the profits from their efforts will go directly to help our local community.”
