TWO Kallista Theatrical rising stars have jumped into the fairy tale land of The Wind in the Willows.
Sisters Matilda and Molly Stapleton are sharing the roll of Portly the baby otter in the Australian Shakespeare Company production which is now playing at the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Molly, 13, is no stranger to being on stage or in front of the camera because she has already starred in an episode of Blue Healers and MDA.
Both the girls are having the time of their lives playing Portly.
The girl’s mother, Jenny, said they are sharing the role because there are two shows a day which would be too much for one person.
The play brings to life Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale of The Wind in the Willows.
The endearing characters of Ratty, Mole, Badger, Otter, Portly and the untameable Mr Toad bring to life their riverbank adventures while enchanting audiences of all ages.
The Wind in the Willows also offers the audience many opportunities to participate in the play including helping to search for the lost little Portly.
Each season the production has grown and developed as different performers bring their own special touch to the play.
People can catch a glimpse of Matilda or Molly in The Wind in the Willows at the Royal Botanic Gardens for another week until Saturday, 27 January.
Tickets cost $25 each, $85 for a family of four or $20 for groups of 10 or more.
To make a booking call 8676 7511 or Ticketmaster on 136 100.
