Face of female psyche

By Tania Martin
BELGRAVE Heights artist Fiona Link-Freeman is inviting hills people into her world of imagination and colour.
Her work will be on display this month at the Lady Hawk Café in Mt Dandenong.
Ms Link-Freeman says her art is an exploration of the face of femineity where she captures the oasis of the female psyche.
She aims to capture the essence of women’s dreams, lives and sacrifices.
Ms Link-Freeman has always had an interest in art but she said it wasn’t until she had her children that her passion for painting started to develop.
“It is just one of those things that I feel so free when I doing it,” she said.
“It’s a place I can feel free to express myself and I feel privileged to share it with everyone.”
Ms Link-Freeman says she hope her paintings strike a cord in people in some way because that is what art is meant to do – to make people look at an image and wonder what lies beneath it.
“The magic of art is what you see and is unique to you and you alone.”
“There is no right or wrong way to interpret art and there should be no rules, so sit and wonder at your leisure and fell free to let your imagination go,” she said.
Anyone wishing to find out more about Ms Link-Freeman’s art should visit the Lady Hawk Café at 1365-1367 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Mt Dandenong, over the next month.
