THE threeday, Sam Ritchie Winter Cup at Emerald Golf Club was balanced on the outcome of the final round, so a large field assembled early with elbows cocked and chalked. The weather, once again, smiled on the combatants and conditions were good.
Tommy Bell stood firm and finished with a score of 80 stableford points for his two preferred rounds. Following him home closely was Steve Miller who finished with 77 points. Brian Crawford came in next with Ken Sumsion who both had 75 points. The daily event was won by Steven F. Miller who had 42 points. This gave him the points overall and for C Grade. Bell won A Grade with his 38 points and Anthony Corbett regained touch to win B Grade with 39 points. Isherwood won nearest the pin on the fourth, Graeme White won on the second and Graeme Fergus took out the loot for winning the pro pin on the 18th. Next week is a par event.
