BORONIA Police will target underage drinking these school holidays.
Sergeant Dave Yeoman said police were issuing a “timely reminder” that the only legal place for children under 18 to have a drink, or be seen holding a drink, was in the safety of their own home under parental supervision.
He urged parents to register any parties with the police station’s PartySafe initiative, so that police could safely patrol the area of the party.
IN A PROACTIVE stance Boronia police have called for residents to secure their licence plates as thefts increase in the wake of rising petrol prices.
Sergeant Dave Yeoman said screws were available which made it extremely difficult for thieves to remove number plates from vehicles, and he urged those without the screws to tightly secure the plates.
DESPITE constant community calls Belgrave Police have yet again appealed for people to lock their cars, even if vehicles are left in driveways or carports.
The call follows the continuing reports of thefts last week from motor vehicles, according to Belgrave Acting Senior Sergeant John McKenzie.
