KNOX City Council has formally adopted its 2007-08 budget.
After releasing a draft document for public consultation, the council rubber-stamped the budget without alteration at its 26 June meeting.
The key features of the budget are a 6.62 per cent rate increase – including a 2 per cent infrastructure levy – and $1.2 million worth of funding for new energy and water conservation initiatives.
Ratepayers will receive information about the new rate structure in the next month.
