GEMBROOK will host a children’s fun run to raise money for an entertainment unit to be used by sick children at the Angliss Hospital.
The 2005 Kids Fun Run with Thomas will allow hundreds of children up to the age of 12 to run alongside Thomas the steam engine as it travels the Puffing Billy route through Gembrook.
Organising committee chairman John Shaw said this year’s fun run promised to be the biggest and best yet, with proceeds again going to the Starlight Foundation.
Starlight spokeswoman Melissa Hay said the foundation was grateful for what the local community was doing.
Ms Hay said the Fun Centre would be available at Ferntree Gully’s William Angliss Hospital.
She described the machine as a portable entertainment unit able to be wheeled to bedridden children.
Ms Hay said it housed a video games console, DVD and LCD television, with more than 80 movies and games preloaded.
The 2005 Fun Runs include Yellow for four years and under; Blue for five and six years; Red for seven and eight years, and Green for nine to 12 years.
Registration can be completed by filling out a form at www.kidsfunrunwith thomas.com or by phoning 9754 3282.
