Angliss auxiliary shows its love

By EMMA SUN

THE Ferntree Gully Auxiliary has donated a whopping $75,700 to the Angliss Hospital following a stellar year of fundraising.
During the group’s recent AGM, the committee presented the hospital with new equipment bought with the money, including a new $24,000 mobile antenatal intensive care system for critically ill infants.
The donations also included a $10,500 laparoscopic instrument set, a $10,500 set of stirrups and a $9305 operating light for operating theatres, as well as high density foam mattresses, pressure reduction mattresses and a transport trolley.
The equipment was gratefully accepted by Eastern Health CEO Alan Lilly and Clinical and site operations chief Paula Stephenson, who both praised the auxiliary members for their hard work.
Eastern Health Community Liaison Manager Steve Haylock commended the consistent support provided by the auxiliary.
“This is not about the money and not about the objects, but about the love given,” he said.
The most recent contribution means the auxiliary has donated more than $1.25 million since its inception 73 years ago.
