Tree hits train service

BELGRAVE train services are expected to be halted until after peak hour, after a large tree fell in Upwey, causing significant damage to overhead wires.
The tree fell in Upwey about two hours ago, taking down over 100 metres of overhead wire infrastructure, according to Metro Trains.
Train services have been halted between Belgrave and Bayswater until further notice and repairs are not expected to be complete until after 6.30pm.
Rail replacement buses are currently operating in between Bayswater and Belgrave stations, and train travellers are being asked to listen for announcements and to expect extra travel time.
