KNOX’S much-loved Stringybark Festival – Victoria’s longest running environmental festival – will take the concept of sustainability to a new level later this month.
Announcing the Stringybark program last week, Knox’s Environment Advisory Committee chairman Mick Van de Vreede said this year’s festival would include an unprecedented variety of displays and activities.
“This year there is something for everybody, from free children’s theatre and workshops and roving performers to gourmet food stalls, craft displays, live music, animals, plants and sustainable product displays,” Cr Van de Vreede said.
“Stringybark is a wonderful community event.
“It’s an opportunity to get together and celebrate our environment while exploring ways to make our everyday lives more sustainable.”
As part of the event, the Rowville Community Centre will host a craft show and exhibition, with entries available to people of all abilities.
The festival will be held on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October from 9am-5pm at the community centre on Fulham Road, Rowville. Application forms for entry in the craft show can be obtained by visiting www.knox.vic.gov.au or calling 9764 1166.
