Fit in for flying boots

By MELISSA MEEHAN

IT’S not the most fashionable, nor skill based sport going around – but that’s all part of the fun.
Gumboot throwing is back at the Lilydale Show in 2013 and organiser Daniel Ball is gearing up for the event.
The competition, held on Sunday 17 November, is open to gumboot throwers of all ages, no prior experience or talent needed.
Your reporter even had a go when I met with Mr Ball – and if this uncoordinated, spatially unaware awkward lass can do it – then so can you.
The person who throws the gumboot the furthest wins a three months’ full membership at Lilydale Squash and Fitness Centre.
To get involved show up on the day – the competition should start about noon-ish – Mr Ball says it’s a pretty casual affair.
