Big splash birthday bash

MONBULK Aquatic Centre is making a big splash for its 40th birthday on Saturday.
Hills people are invited to the birthday bash of the century – a giant pool party.
There will be something for everyone at this celebration from a jumping castle for children to food stalls and entertainment for the adults.
Swimming, CFA, surf life saving, marine safety and environment displays will also keep people entertained.
A fashion parade will add something extra special to this birthday bash.
Learn all about the history of the swimming pool as the Monbulk Historical Society displays the pictures of what the property looked like before the pool was built.
The Monbulk Scouts will be cooking up a storm with a traditional sausage sizzle while the local swimming club will demonstrate how fast contenders would have to swim to qualify for the state championships.
Fitness fanatics can also have their blood pressure checked in the gym while checking out some of the fantastic equipment.
Entry to the birthday bash is free and there will be plenty of giveaways on offer.
There are some fantastic door prizes up for grabs including 10 weeks of free aquatic education for one family and a three month health and fitness membership.
For a day of fun and excitement this giant pool party is not to be missed on Saturday 10 November at the Monbulk Aquatic Centre in Baynes Park Road, from noon to 5pm.
