Reward to find Bung’s killer

A ONE million dollar reward has been announced for information about the disappearance of 13-year-old Boronia girl Siriyakorn ‘Bung’ Siriboon.
Bung left her home in Elsie Street, Boronia around 8.30am on Thursday 2 June 2011.
She was seen by a neighbour a short time later in Elsie Street, walking towards Albert Avenue.
Bung did not arrive at school that day and has not been seen or heard from since. Investigators continue to hold grave fears for her safety.
Homicide Squad Detective Inspector John Potter said he was hopeful that the announcement of the reward would encourage someone who knew what happened to Bung to share the information with police.
“One million dollars is a life changing amount of money,” Det Insp Potter said.
“Taskforce Puma and Homicide Squad detectives have investigated more than 1200 pieces of information since Bung went missing but we’re still missing that crucial piece that will provide some answers about what happened to her.
“We are not going to solve this on our own, we need the community’s help – if you have any information about what may have happened to Bung on that morning in June 2011 and have not previously contacted us, please do so,” he said.
At the time of her disappearance Bung was wearing her blue and white school uniform and carrying a school backpack. The backpack has never been recovered.
Bung is described as being of Thai origin, approximately 154cm tall, thin build with long dark hair and brown eyes.
A reward of up to $1 million will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner, for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for Bung’s disappearance.
The Department of Public Prosecutions will also consider granting indemnity from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders.
Anyone with new information about the disappearance of Bung Siriboon is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
