I’d like to congratulate the Lilydale Junior Football Club for organising the Lilydale Community Festival which was held on Saturday 29 March 2014.
The festival was the first of its kind for the Gateway Community and proved to be an outstanding success, with a steady flow of people attending throughout the event from 9.30am to 5pm.
The community atmosphere was amazing and there was a range of different people attending – students, families, seniors, people walking their dogs.
Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and appreciated the opportunity to socialise with their community in a festival atmosphere.
It was great to see the many local businesses that got involved as well as local community services.
The live entertainment also added to the atmosphere as people meandered through the street stalls and children enjoyed the face painting and jumping castle carnival rides as well as the miniature pony rides.
I’m sure everyone who attended would agree that the community festival was a fantastic event.
Congratulations again to the organising committee for all of your efforts.

Deputy Mayor,
