Care reaches out

By Tania Martin
HILLS people can now get counselling advice close to home.
Valley Care Counselling Service has just opened a new outreach service in Kilsyth.
Manager and counsellor Graeme Dawson said this means that hills people needing advice don’t have to travel to the Seville or Millgrove branches of the service.
Mr Dawson said a lot of people from areas such as Belgrave, Montrose and The Basin would find it easier to reach counselling sessions at the new service.
He said the counselling service aims to provide helpful assistance to people attempting to cope with issues in their lives such as anger management.
Mr Dawson said a range of counselling from family and relationships to grief and loss was available through the services.
He said hills people can also seek assistance by talking to counsellors about any anxiety or depression they may be experiencing.
“We also deal with abuse issues both domestic and sexual, anger management and addiction problems,” he said.
Mr Dawson said many people come in for counselling for issues such as abuse and find that they have other problems such as addictions and family or relationship issues.
He said counselling was a great way for people to talk about their problems and find a way to move forward in their lives.
Valley Care Counselling Service is now operating in the hills every Tuesday at the rear of Kilsyth South Baptist Church, 382-388 Liverpool Road, Kilsyth.
To find out more about this counselling service call Mr Dawson on 0409 517 273.
