Split Identity bags prize

By KATHRYN BERMINGHAM

YOUNG artists were in focus on Cup Weekend at the Emerald Art Society’s 44th Annual Exhibition.
Held at the Emerald Arts Society Studio, the event received council funding this year to include a section of the exhibition for artists aged 19 years and younger. The ‘Next Generation Artist Award’ was won by Shenay McIntyre with her piece ‘Split Identity.’
Exhibition co-ordinator Kay Frith said that the show exposed the community to the work of local artists.
“This annual exhibition provides an opportunity for members of the community and general public to view the range and variety of work created by local, established and aspiring arts practitioners.”
