YARRA Ranges Council has released an update on the refurbishment of the Olinda pool, stating that plans to repair the community facility are “progressing well.”
Council has appointed an expert in hydraulic design to co-ordinate the design as well as consult on water circulation, pumping and filtration.
Tenders are currently open for the installation of the new liner.
The redevelopment is being overseen by the Project Control Group, made up of members of the Olinda community, Councillor Jason Callanan and council officers.
They are working to ensure that the surrounding vegetation of the area will not impact on the structure of the pool shell.
The pool was saved in November when council voted six to two to allocate $770,000 to repair and upgrade the pool, after a campaign within the community opposed its closure.
