THE Emerald Arts Society each year dedicates itself in representing some of Emerald’s local identities in painted or photographic form for their ‘Portraits of Emerald’ exhibition.
To enhance this year’s display, artists have also captured scenes of Emerald.
With numerous mediums used – such as watercolour, oil, charcoal and photography – the exhibition is a chance for society members to explore techniques, celebrate the town and encourage community participation in the arts.
After the official launch night next Friday, 31 July, all portraits of ‘people’ and ‘places’ will be hung around the Emerald township for next month.
A trail guide listing all works and their locations can be picked up at the Emerald newsagency.
All ‘places’ of Emerald works of art are for sale and will display prices and details.
The Emerald Arts Society holds a variety of classes and workshops and always welcomes new members.
